The Castle somber,
empty and Poor
The stones were few
life had been there before
People once lived there
elegant and chic
The upkeep perfect
Bold and sleek
now rundown
a lonely place
The outside sad
an empty face

she sits in decay
somberly waiting
gates never opening
stones
crumbling
they used to dance inside her
parties for kings & queens
she used to sing
in celebration
of lively things
time has been cruel
all things die
& all things
crumble
she sits & waits
for earth’s gates
to take her
